The weeks leading up to the main games day boasts a variety of different rides with the line-up changing all the time with new rides arriving almost every week. I will try and make at least one trip a week to the ground, in order for me to make a report and keep you up to date with what is present.

28th May

Burntislands usual first arrivals are almost set up and open with some rides having opened a few days ago. Codonas Waltzer is almost finished as is Ervin Gambles Car Track and Coaster which have arrived previously open in Kilmarnock. A new addition to the fair this year is James Arthur Wrights "Wacky Worm" Coaster on a first time visit to the fairground. This ride is similar to the "Big Apple" Coaster but slightly smaller, but is well presented like Gambles machine so it sets up some competition.

12th June

Spencer Hiscoes Skydiver and Funhouse have now arrived, direct from their fairs in the Borders, probably West Linton. Skydiver was half built up around midday and Funhouse was still packed up. Both should be open soon. Clifford Codonas Waltzers still havent been completely finished and Im unsure if they are open or not.

19th June

Joe Sedgwicks Dodgems is the latest ride to the fair, ride is built up and ready to open (if it isnt already!). Trent Irvins Arcade also on site direct from Grangemouth fair which has just finished. Codonas Waltzers still has no top sign yet. Still unsure if they are open or not.

26th June

More than half the rides are now set up at the fair and are open for business. The weather over the past few days has been great and when I visited the ground on the Sunday, the fair was really busy! Latest arrivals are John Evans Waltzers which I think has moved a couple of positions the the left and Joe Sedgwicks excellent build up Dodgem set.

One more ride to add to the list, regular visitor Albert Wheatley has arrived and has just about finished building up his Twist, should be open soon, and Clifford Codonas Waltzers now has half a top sign!

Billy Johnstones Rock'O'Plane and David Thomsons Superbob loads onsite and should be open in next few days. Rock'O'Plane will take the place of Hiscoes Skydiver due to leave tonight for Braehead. Also Stanley Gambles Tagada is open on its usual position.

Superbob and Twist now built up and Spencer Hiscoes equipment has departed and now open at Braehead Shopping Centre. George Allan Hickeys Funhouse, Toy Set, Tea Cups and Train Ride had just arrived onsite.

Irvin Stringfellows Twist and new Mini Tower have arrived and open for business. The Tower offering something different to the fair. Joe Whites Ghost Train and David Thomsons Streetfighter also open on the ground. John Wheatleys Miami just pulled on as I left the fair.

23rd July

With the Games Day now over, the machines will start to reduce in number. Graham Sedgwicks Experience departed Tuesday to make the trip up north to Rathven. David Thomsons Superbob was also to make the trip but transport problems ment he had to stay at Burntisland. Batemans Round-Up and Wheatleys Big Wheel have also departed, Wheatleys Big Wheel having a very short visit compared to last year. George Irvins Dodgems being pulled down as I visited.

25th July

George Irvins Dodgems have now departed to make way for another fresh attraction. Troy Taylors Tristar has made its first visit to the fair on the position normally occupied by George H Codonas Twist. John Evans' Waltzers have also left to attend a fair at Gullane.

31st July

Quite a few rides being pulled down or have finished being pulled down ready for departure either Sunday night or Monday morning. Rides will probably head for Bridge of Allan and Muir of Ord. George Allan Hickeys quartet of attractions have also left leaving that end of the ground empty. Anthony Strands Funhouse also has left the fair.
